Dateline Montgomery: 19th of  October  2013

The Occasion:

The 2013 Yodaai Picnic
& 1st intercity sports event!

The die was cast.
And the warriors and contenders from the cities of Montgomery, Auburn and Birmingham arrived.

 From the very young...

To the radiantly and beautifully aged...

Hosting the whole event was the city of Montgomery and its merry team...

And our team captain,

the Balogun of Ibadan himself

And the team from Auburn, the tiger breathing, fire spewing, secret - weapon - possessing ones...

They brought all kinds of hitherto unseen-for-months- reinforcement ....

Birmingham's team,  not to be outdone...

The Cheerleaders tried to rally the troops...

The social commandant, taking charge...

appointed impartial, independent  judges,

all the way from Dallas, Nigeria to judge the events.
And the race was on!

100m dash!

The sac race...

Lime and spoon race...

Don't you let that lime drop off the spoon!

The girls run to Catch the train....

and then get dressed in our native attire in the process...

Tug of war...
Don't be pulled in by the smiling faces of the Auburn team - that smile is their secret weapon...

and for fun, table tennis!
