E yo, e bere, e f'ijo si!

The dancing this year was different!

 O le ku o.

The Social Secretary really upped the action this year by surprising us with a live band!

Timi D and his band were in the house, and he had everyone on the dance floor,

young and gracefully aged...

digging it to the strains of good yoruba drums and singing.

Awon oga mi mejeeji...

Even the kids got dancing and asked what the money exchanging hands was about...

nle awon oko mi..., Tomi and daddy digging it

Ko ma da bi pe a o si 'n be...

digging it to the strains of good yoruba drums and singing.

The ladies led on the dance floor...

Post Christmas blues...

If you are like me,
you are sorry to see Christmas go...
I love the season,  the decorations, the parties

the fresh greenery...

the seasonal wish for peace on earth...

and the goodwill to all men,

the christmas elves and the gifts they bear...

but all good things must come to an end
and over the next few days
I have to make myself take down all the decorations.
Then the house looks different.

Empty in a different kind of way...

But then the rebirth begins,
a fresh new year,
full of hope and anticipation for
the fulfilment of dreams, hitherto deferred...

Here's looking forward
to a whole new beginning for you and I
and our beloved Yodaai...
