The Annual Yodaai Olympics: Part 2

In which the men wrestled down the Short Puts and the ladies caught the train...(long Story!)


And so the events carried on and so did the 
participants and judges...




 On to the Short Put...


 Mr President, going first for Birmingham.

Then the Auburnites took their turn...

And now, the ladies are going to catch the train below, 
with Montgomery on the left, Birmingham on the right 
&
Auburn nowhere to be seen...


They will unpack & play dress up, sans mirror




 Tie their geles and complete a traditional yoruba attire, pack up again and make a dash for the finish line...




The lady from Birmingham is done dressing up 
and is off to the finish line


While the lady from Montgomery is looking for something???


She's off and gone, below!


And home dry but does that mean she wins??


Welcome home, finally, to the lady from Montgomery!




You must both be so exhausted...

And Montgomery wins this one, just based on sheer will power and graceful coordination,

The 2016 Annual Yodaai Intercity Olympics

Irohin O to A f'oju Ba, Eni Ba De Be Lo Le So! 

By which I mean 
you had to have been there
 to get the full picture of how it all went down...

Dateline : 15th October 2016

All roads led to Montgomery Alabama for the annual tri city sports fest that we affectionately refer to as the Yodaai Olympics. 
The drill was the same - members of the Yodaai family living in each of the tri - city areas 
competed against each other for the top honors.



Spoiler Alert: The host city won with Style and Grace this year! More on that later...

Our Original Judges from the Federal Republic of Dallas, Nigeria (Don't Ask!) by way of Atlanta, Ga were in attendance as usual.


 The rules were clarified and well defined for all


 The host city captain ready for battle...




The 100m Dash Dream Team - Yeah I said it! - from Montgomery! below


The B'Ham city Reps, below, for the race...


Give it up for our young men from Montgomery, 
who were drafted to run for the city of Auburn


And they are off, see them go like they are running for dear life...


The winner from Montogmery!




I don tire o - that run was too long...




The spectator sports section ...


Cheering on the participants...









Then it was on to the Tug of war. 
the judges defining the lay of the line below..


 The Birmingham team surveying the landscape below, 
weighing their options..






And they are off, the Birmingham team vs the Auburn team


And Birmingham conquered the Auburnites 
in a few short pulls across the line!


Then it was the turn of the host city against Auburn


the spectators doing their thing below...



Checking the integrity of the rope, below - you never know...


And it's on between Montgomery and Auburn!
They came prepared with their red gloves...


O le ku  o - ija ore!


And The host city Triumphed over Auburn



Finally, its Birmingham against Montgomery


Fifa yen l'agbara o!




It was no contest against the muscle men of Birmingham...
