    1. JUST A THOUGHT!

Great post! Congratulations to all Nigerians in the Diaspora on the 51st Independence Anniversary this Saturday, October 1, 2011. May the promises of God be ours as recorded in Isaiah 60 (Check it out), and as we are reminded in "Orin Ewi" by Adekunle Stephen Adedeji (Alias: Omo Alaafin Orun). Yes, we are an outstanding group of people of Nigeria. Yes, Nigeria will be restored when we follow our fervent prayers with respectable actions in our daily lives, and by encouraging those able to go to the polls in our beloved country to hold accountable our elected officials. God bless Nigeria!

In the meantime, let us reflect deeply on the name we are called- YORUBA- What does it mean? Where did it come from? Perhaps when we are clear about this we will choose to do a few things differently.

"Ayanmo ni oruko. Bi kobanidi omo obinrin ki ije Kumolu; Babalawo ki ije Amusa....OMOLUWABI ni oruko Iran wa."

      Just a thought!

    2. Nigerian Independence Day Greetings
I extend my warmest greetings to our highly esteemed members and fellow Nigerians on the occasion of Nigerian 51st Independence Day celebration.
As we celebrate I ask all you to reflect deeply on our journey as a country and as a nation within the country.
We the Yorubas should strive to continue to lead in terms of service to fellow human beings in civility, to our creators with a deep sense of humility and unto our self with integrity. Let us borrow a leaf from the Oyos when they say - “Ajise bi Oyo laa ri Oyo kii se bi enikan”. Aseyi se amodun O. Amin.
Long live Nigeria, Long Live the Yoruba Race!

      Dr Oluyinka Adediji (YODAAI president)
