Yodaai Community Involvement: A visit to Adullam House.

Community involvement and service
is one of the core tennets of our great association
and this October, we again fulfilled these obligations.

The social secretary had us doing a Toy collection drive all year long
for underserved children in the community.

The executive body identified Adullam House,

a non profit organization in Wetumpka
that provides home and respite care
for children of incarcerated people.

We approached them and they were glad to receive the toys for the kids
 - a jumpstart on their christmas presents!

We got to meet Pete Hackman,

who together with his wife Angela
were the original founders of Adullam house .

Pete is a preacher involved in Prison Ministry who originally came to Alabama
from Liverpool England and never left.

Pete is an unwavering advocate for these kids and
he cheerfully showed us around the property, taking us to their new school as well,
telling stories of children that have passed through them and the ones that never left -
who became their own adopted kids.

Pete's sister, a social worker, visiting from Liverpool, England.

Everything including the land, the chapel and the brand new private school
was donated by individuals.
We got to meet some of these precious children...

To all who donated generously from your hearts and pockets: Thank you!
You have been a great blessing to these kids.

Ladies: Remember to think Pink and have your mammograms if you havent already done so!

My thanks to all our executives in identifying Adullam House, and to our YODAAI's deligates for their time in visiting and presenting the gifts. My thanks also to all that donated Toys, contributed money to buy Toys and just being part of this act of kindness. May God replenish your source a hundred folds... We will continue to seek various avenues to touch the needy and make a difference in YODAAI's communities...
