Yodaai August 2013 Meeting.
Were you there yesterday
at the meeting in Birmingham?
It was another fine meeting as usual...
O ga ju.
The Birminghamians, (yep! new word according to the dictionary of the Social Secretary!) standing up in the above, outdid themselves with their hospitality and generosity of spirit.
Koda!
E ku agba! |
Irohin o to a f'oju ba.
Eni ba de be lo le so.
We welcomed potential new members/visitors from the Auburn area....
We were glad to see old friends....( yes, I'm talking about you two, Dr and Dr Mrs )
We warmed up our spirits with a rendition of a newly adapted song for Yodaai
composed by madam "Je l'enke" herself...
(Sese ni 'nu mi dun..
Ayo kun okan mi x2
t'ori 'pade Yodaai
t'ori 'pade yodaai
t'ori 'pade Yodaai ti t'oni
Ayo kun okan mi!
We told a folkstory (Alo o!) to the children...
Even our youngest member listened with full attention!
It was the tale of asin t'oun t'okere, jo mi jo..
(the one about the mouse and the squirrel)
These kids below told the morale of the story.
Awon boys, just chillin', e ma yo wa l'enu o! |
We celebrated birthdays from March to August....young and old alike!
The Pastor came up to add another morale of the story from another angle!
And we took a new group photo.
Looking young and good, madam! |
Awon omo wa, e mama je ki won t'araka o! |
Ipade dun o, if you missed it, you missed the fun and camaraderie!
Madam VP . dying from the laughter of the translation by the social secretary! |
Our youngest member, with one of our oldest members above and below! (just Joking!) |
"This is so much fun" |
Our executives, above and below,
Mr President, sir....
Rice, soup, dodo, iyan, amala, efo plus ewa agoyin very plenty indeed!
Thank you to our host city and see you soon for the picnic and games of 2013 in Montgomery.
The "Montgomerians" shall retaliate...
That is a promise, not a threat!
